Michelle Dawney RMT
Michelle first came to Kingston to attend Queen’s University, where she received her bachelor’s degree in Arts and Science. However, it didn’t take long for her to realize that a career in that field wasn’t quite the right fit. Combining her passion for service, gained in over ten years in the restaurant industry, and her eagerness and knack for learning about the human body, Michelle began to feel a strong pull toward massage. After completing her diploma with honours at Trillium College in July of 2019, Michelle has found that this enthusiasm and desire to help others through the practice of therapeutic massage has only intensified.
Michelle is a firm believer that our quality of life is deeply rooted in how our bodies feel and perform during activities of daily life. She understands that every body is different, and each treatment should be catered to the individual’s needs. Be it lighter relaxation therapy, or deep tissue work that you’re looking for, Michelle has the knowledge and skill to adapt each treatment according to what you need to live a comfortable and healthy lifestyle. Her clinical experience at school has given her the opportunity to treat a wide array of conditions across a diverse demographic of clients, which she is excited to continue to do in her career at Mercury.
Michelle is already looking forward to taking additional courses to expand her toolbox of techniques. She has taken an early interest specifically in TMJ treatment, as well as Craniosacral Therapy. Education in the field of massage therapy is a life-long process, and Michelle looks forward to developing and honing her skills going forward.
Outside of her time in the clinic, Michelle can be found soaking up every minute possible with her family and friends, spending time hiking, swimming, or around the campfire. She loves taking in any and all live music, and indulging in the amazing culinary diversity this city has to offer. Kingston is the city she loves, and Michelle cannot wait to give back to the community that has been so good to her.
